Performed by Libiamo Antiqua Ensemble, a historically informed performance (HIP) group dedicated to the vibrant sound world of the 17th and 18th centuries. The ensemble performs exclusively from original manuscripts, facsimiles, and scholarly urtext editions, bringing authenticity and historical nuance to every note.
This concert will trace the fascinating stylistic journey from the early Baroque, through the grandeur of the late Baroque, into the elegance of the Galant style, and onward to the freshness of the early Classical period—spotlighting influential composers and distinctive musical idioms of each age.
To deepen the experience, each section of the program will be introduced with a brief, engaging 4–5 minute talk, offering context, stories, and insights to bring the music vividly to life for the audience.
